Some of Heidi’s credits include several national and international touring productions, performances at the Kennedy Center and Smithsonian Institute, and instruction at many theatres and international music and dance festivals and camps, including the Augusta Heritage Center and the Wheatland Music Organization.
Founder, choreographer, instructor and award winning dancer Heidi Kulas is no stranger to the percussive dance scene having been a longtime principle dancer of Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble and a dance instructor for over 18 years before earning her BA in Theatre Arts from Mars Hill College. She has been guest dancer with some of the best musicians in the traditional music world including Lunasa, Nickel Creek, Uncle Earl, The Gibson Brothers, Tim O’Brien and Eileen Ivers, to name a few. She currently co-directs Sole Impact dance company, is the dance director at both the Asheville Arts Center and Joyful Noise Community Music and Arts Center, and continues to teach and promote arts-in-education in the schools with the Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) program in Madison County.
